Opinions??? I think it will be a pile of cchit, personally. Even the title is dumb (Chinese Democracy). It is 13 years in the making, and I can just see an epic fail on the horizon. Axle Rose is an absolute wing nut, and I can*t see him being sane enough to make a respectable album. For what it is worth, I have 'Appetite' in my top 20 all time favorite albums, if not in the top 10. We*ll see...out next month at a Best Buy near you.

 

I'm not sure - I've heard a pre-release a few times through. There were a couple of tunes that sounded like classic gunners that I quite liked. I have not heard the real album through, but if the stuff I heard makes it onto it... it has some a few catchy songs. Definitely had a much older gunners sound than I expected.

 

Madagascar is fine.
I.R.S. is catchy.
Better is good.
The title track is old school... I didn't mind it, and I thought I'd hate it.

It sounds surprisingly mature, and accurate. It isn't like the new Metallica album where you wish that he'd stop singing. I wonder if Axel can sing this live.

I'll probably buy it, and it won't be half the money wasted as some of the albums I have brought.

I hope it sounds like GNRs of old days. Im not expecting to much from it though, Like Voodoo said its been 13 years in the making, there is no way its gonna live up to the hype.

 

So forget about the hype...just listen to it and pick out the ones you like. I never did get their last album.

I've heard some of the new songs om Sirius, and it's not too bad. It didn't grab me and make me think it was the best song either, but neither did the new Metallica when I first heard it and it has now grown on me and I did end up getting the album.

And it hasn't be 13 years in the making, it's been 13 years of arguing about it...Axel is a douche, but GNR is/was the $hit, probably the best band to come out of the gay *** hair band 80's...

Appetite for Destruction, I'd say, is in my top 5 albums all time. Rocket Queen is also a top 5 song of all time for me.

They are the type of band, whether you like them or not, you know the words to their songs regardless.

I guess my expectations for this album are somewhat tempered, because GNR isn't GNR w/o Slash...

I just hope they bring back Alicia Silverstone and make more videos.
