Damn it Nauree...don´t toss up links without saying why you like them!!!
Funny I haven´t much about Falcon Northwest over the past couple of years. I remember they used to be the rig to have, nowadays the market is flooded.
Falcon Northwest because you can get it custom painted and because they have an uber website.

Voodoo laptops?

Toshiba is making a laptop with 3 gpu's. Uses a Geforce 9400M for desktop duties then two 9800M GTS's for gaming/graphics.

X305-Q708 and X305-Q706

why would you need a graphics card for "desktop duties"? its not like that stuff is going to overload a gaming card. I would just think its a waste and its cramming extra heat producing components into an already over cramped and over heated space

i am not a fan of dell, i just have never seen one that doesnt have problems. alienware is cool but i don't have any personal experience with them.

if you really want a gaming rig, i would go with a desk top anyways, just more bang for you buck, but i can see how laptops are handy.

Much of that savings isn´t going to be recognized for 30 years.

I am refinancing my mortgage. It´s knocking it from a 40 yr mortgage to a 30 yr one, and saving me $140 a month to boot.

The two 9800 are shut down when not in use. The 9400 saves on battery power and less heat.

George is right, desktops are better value for money, I think. Video card prices have come way, way down. $2k+ for a name-brand gaming notebook, practically obsolete by the time you open it...when you could build an upgradeable mid-tower for a measly $750 and play any DX10.1 game out there...sure, you still need peripherals and a display, but you aren't beholden to some corporation's lousy excuse for "customer service." Just my 2¢

I have a decent gaming PC now (not great but decent). I was looking for a replacement laptop so that when I head over my friend´s house on the bike, we can setup and play.

I will agree Dell´s consumer CSRs suck (The business class is US based). I had to call them a couple times for my current laptop. It didn´t work correctly out of the box. The CSR (after being on hold) gave me a couple BS things to try. Ended up sending it back for the GPU replacement. Worked fine for about a year, then the motherboard fried. Sent it back and got it back all fixed. Haven´t had a major problem since then.

Alienware and Voodoo seem to be of interest, but I always liked the Alienware (used to be awed by Falcon Northwest).

Again, It´s really a dream right now. I have WAY to many things going on to even consider spending money on this.
