Default g/f wants a bike what would you suggest

So my g/f has been really enjoying riding on the back of my bike and yesterday for the first time i let her sit on the front of the bike while i helped balance it from the back and we trolled around the parking lot. She did pretty well for her first time ona sport bike. She is hooked and now i need to find a bike for her. What would you guys suggest. I want to stick to honda because thats what i know best. She is 5'7 with short legs. Lets here your recommendations.

I would suggest a CBR 250R. It a good looking bike. 250 are great for learners and after all its a Honda.

+1 what R Dub said. Additionally, if the Honda 250 isn't available, the Ninja 250 is a good option.

I would also make sure she takes the MSF Course.

yeah i have us both signed up for the course in September and i have heard a lot of good things about the ninja 250. Seems everyone enjoys those. The cbr250 would look nice but honestly buying a new bike for her is out of the question. i was thinking of getting her something relatively cheap and have her learn ont hat so if she drops it or what not i wont freak out about it. PLus i could sell it later on and get her something newer or tradefor something newer(thats how i came across my bike. I am a trader and will trade up to better things lol) thanks for the feedback and look forward to hearing more

I agree with the 250, Its a nice bike all around. I have rode one and they will surprise you. She would be really happy with it, and the price for one is great

1500 to 2g will get you a super nice low millage like new used 250 ninja. Seems like alot of people buy them and then drop 'em quick to upgrade after only season or two. Ought to be a great starter plus real light so it would be easy 4 her to pick up. Hit up craigslist!

heck ya man. that is great. like everyone else said I would prefer the 250 as well. I'm 5' 8" and I can't stand flat footed on my 06 600RR. my heel is about an inch off the ground, so I'm curious to how she stood on your 07 bc when I tried out an 07 at the dealer i could flat foot it very comfortable and it made me pretty mad! lol.

Also if you can find one, the 500 ninja is a great bike too. A lil more power then the 250, but handles like a dream. Still very cheap on price also. I had and rode one most of the summer as a everyday commuter and loved it. I could hang curves on it better than on my f3 or f4i

lol i own a 95 cbr1000f and she could only touch the ground with her tippy toes. I was sitting on the back seat and support much of the bike for her
it was a little nerve racking but we survived the parking lot

1. Does she know how to ride a bicycle? (balance issues)
2. Has she ever rode a quad or dirtbike? (hand clutch issues)
3. Can she drive a manual transmission vehicle? (understanding clutch operation all together)
4. What kind of motorcycle riding will she be partaking in?

If she has rode quads and dirtbikes growing up and is confident and comfortable with her ability then I would start her on a 600. Reasons being; she understands the concept of motorcycles and understands the mechanics behind machines like these. If she will be an avid rider she will become tired/bored of the 250, if she tracks or races in way.

If she has never been on any machine with wheels other than her car/truck/SUV/jeep/tractor get her a 250. Here in a year or two upgrade.
