I had to laugh when I saw this one. It's so true. I've got a few buddies with small man syndrome.

No one should ever fight, but the reality of it is that you MUST know how to defend yourself and what's yours. I have been amatuer boxing for 3 years now and have wrestled for 7 years of my life, in and out of state tournaments. Let me tell you what my trainer told me the first day he met me, and it's soo true. He said "99.9% of the riff raff that want to throw down with you in a club or on the street do NOT know how to throw a punch."

It is SOO true. I know this from personal experience. Footwork and mere headmovement/getting the F out of the way ends a fight if you know how to counter punch and have good reflexes.

Quick story:
A buddy of mine was mouthing off to a guy at happy hour (It's Arizona -happy hour is every day 3-7pm everywhere) bc I guess the guy had bumped into him in a douchey way. Well, of course, the kid did not want to fight but his friend did His friend was bouncing around like an ape boasting that anyone who has a problem with his friend has a problem with him. Well, I sat back and did not engage but rather watched what this ape was going to do next. Sure enough he attempts to throw the ugliest overhand right, telegraphed from the moon at my buddy! Dosent come even close. I step in as close as possible and throw a stiff straight right which I knew would land - bc if he dosent know how to throw a punch, he dosent know how to get out of the way of a punch - followed immediately by a left hook (my strongest punch - plant your back right foot and twist from the hip/pivot on your front left leg/come straight horizontal with the punch, DONT loop (your natural instinct is too loop this punch bc we grew up watching Rocky) keep the punch tight and short - if it lands its devistating - temple or chin are the aim here - What most people do not understand is the most power from a punch is generated about mid way through the punch NOT at the end (e.g anyone see Rich Frankilin knock out Chuck Liddell? - He caught him coming in and Chuck got hit 1/3 way threw Rich's punch - goodnight chuck) try to keep your chin down and tucked as you throw (any punch for that matter) as he may be countering too, and you dont want to get knocked out - when you get hit with a punch (any blunt force) and your head is up, it rattles your jaw which rattles your skull which deems you unconscious) Anyway, I only nicked his jaw. I didn't drop him, he fell back and immediately retreated and shuffled out of the bar. His friends actually stayed around and didnt bother us lol...it was actually kinda weird..

Moral of the story...know how to defend yourself...don't go looking for fights.

Btw, I'm 5"10 and 146lbs....this guy was at least 180lbs..

Meh I'll be honest - I love fighting.

I'm not a small guy around 6'0 195 and not the largest obvioulsy. I wrestled (college included), Studied a few other self defense arts etc.

I rarely instigated fights. Especially now that I'm getting older. Random drunk guy in bar and girlfriend stuff has caused me to pick one or two, BUT! I try to avoid trouble the legal ramifications just aren't worth it.

However - I have a couple of "those guys" friends that like to pick them. Hell every time I go out I secretly hope they do!

unfortunately im that friend half the time. I never start fights and try to resolve problems in a non physical manner first but if the person doesnt want to and is being a jackass i have no problem throwing the first punch.
case in point: last weekend we were at the bar and some drunk douche kept backing into my friend on purpose and laughing and we kept telling him he needed to stop but since he was about 6'0-6'1 and were both 5'9 and he had a good 50 lbs on both of us he just kept on laughing and asked us what we were gonna do about it so i smiled and threw a right hook that knocked him back and he tried getting back into my face so i threw one more and he dropped and was laying face down on the bar floor. We tried to be nice but if you want to keep acting like an *** to random strangers sh*t happens.

There's more wanna be UFC fighters / MMA experts out there than anything.

Any guy who wears Affliction or Knock Out anything is 99.9% a pud.
