Default Which Ford Stroker kit? probe or scat?

Well I plan on build every soon my first stroker engine. I have a set of Twisted Wedge Heads, 170cc 2.05 intake 1.60 exhaust. I have to get built, I also have a stage 1 and a stage 2 trick-flow cam shaft. I'll be using a edelbrock performer RPM EFI intake with 24 or 30lp injectors with 76mm maf. So I have found these two street kits at coast high performance and I wanted to know which would be better. And I do plan on spraying a little bit of nitrous to it. No bigger than a 150 wet shot. So first off which kit should I use

It is the street kits, probe @ 949 or the scat kit @ 1041. Also what is the difference in connecting rods between these kits? Should I do the 28oz or 50oz external balance? I dont plan on turning the engine but about 6000 rpms. I just wanted a good street build something that I could race now and again.
If you could answer some of these questions I'd be grateful. Also what could I expect to make (hp) with a build like this. Yea guys I know this is a bike forum, but I thought I'd ask. Never built a stroker, and now I guess im not selling the stang or bike. Things seem to be getting a bit better.

Thanks in advance
Ricky

I wish I still had my 5.0 now. Just go forced induction baby!

I'll dive into this deeper and look everything over tomorrow almost bed time for me now.

I had a ported cobra upper / lower intake with F-cam. some custom heads p&p'd. Magnaflow longtubes / dr gas shorty h-pipe / magnaflow exhaust. 3.73 gears to a MGW short shifter / Votec S-Trim supercharger and I used a 50 shot of nitrous as a ghetto intercooler occasionally. had 42lb injectors / walbro 255 fuel pump / 80mm (maybe?) maf if memory serves. And some other various goodies.

anyways you might wanna check out corral.net if you don't have a specific mustang forum yet.

I've assembled alot of 331 kits and 347 kits as well. For the money a 331 is a good choice and at least you won't have to do to much grinding on the block and you won't have any unneccessary oil consumption. Probe has real good light weight piston and scat as long as they include the J&E pistons you will be ok. I preffere Ross pistons but those will do. I like the early 28.5 external but most machice shops don't want to have trouble so they go 50 ounce instead. Those are great heads and breath very well, make suure the kit is made for those heads. As far as the cam I like the z303 because of the duration and lift combo on it. I just built a 331 for a friend and it is a probe kit with trick flow heads and a victor jr intake and a 750cfm carb, C4 tranny and 4.10 gears. It went 11.50s @118mph. He had it dynoed 2 weeks ago and it went 435 hp at the rear wheel. This is a all motor combo but with another cam nitrous should work great. I'm sure what ever kit you get should work great. I will probably end up going with the 28oz ext, just because it is a bit beefier crank. Both kits I was looking at come with probe forged pistons. I have a GREAT engine builder for the short block and I'll probably get him to put the heads on too, everything else I plan on doing. I dont mind building stock short blocks but I dont want to mess it up so I'll get the best around to do it.

And the reason I wont go forced induction, is because this is a budget build, I have basically everything already except the stroker kit itself. I just hope my little AOD can hold up. It is built but I'm not sure if it can handle that kind of power. I may just build a C4 we have laying around untill I can send the AOD off to have the work done on it to make it were it CAN handle that much hp and torque.

Thanks guys

Well we have a 351W ready to be built to... and the stroker kits are about the same $$ decisions decisions.

Well always remember -

There is no replacement for displacement.
