I had two Oscars in college, I had an extra tank for feeders, they got HUGE and vicious... those were fun fish to own.

 

they are legal in south dakota, the tank did not go through its cycle..but i did put a PH tab. and tap water conditioner in there..the guy said that will be good. and i dont think he is quite big enough to eat live fish yet..he sure does like the blood worms tho..he will now eat with the light on as long as im far enough away from the tank.

That is nutballs. If he survives new tank syndrome, he's just gonna get huge and even more pissed off at being in a smallish tank...whew, man, watch your fingers. He might enjoy a heater, too. All my guys are algae eaters and low level swimmers...I couldn't imagine having to worry about them jumping out of the water with razors for teeth [sm=insomnia.gif]

 

WEIRD! I had two of them quite a few years ago...when they got about 4-5 inches long, I started feeding them pinky mice...It's so cool watching them swim on top of the water(insert theme from Jaws here) then all of a sudden the piranha come up and grab a hold of the mice and shake them under until there wasn't much left of it...One day I was getting ready to clean the tank and reached in to get out some of the decor, and one of them latched onto my pinky finger and took out a half inch chunk...F'n thing! Pissed me off! Got rid of them after a few more months...

hell yeah, piranha kick ***. I had some back in high school. go outside and catch some smallbugs, like crickets, grasshoppers,and other things.that fish will tear it up

 

I'll bet pinky mouse doesn't think it's very cool...he's like, "This is soooo f_cking ****ty of a way to die!"




Hey JD...your fish is reallysmall (have you ever heard that before)? Hahahaha...he looks depressed, like he was picked on in school (fish pun). How big is he going to get? I want a pirahna for my step daughter's bathtub!

 

i think he can grow up to 7 inches(or larger) once i get him out of this damn little tank..he just in the 15gal. for a month or so..then i will throw the 75 gallon in here(if it fits). I really like this one, i hope he survives. hes been in this tank close to 2 days now. hes been eating pretty good. seems to be coming out more often and swimming around without hiding when i get close to the tank. ill get a better pic with my camera instead of my phone tomorrow when i get off work.
