A few steps closer! Ordered Plastics. What do you think?

Alright!!! Just got the bike back together for a test run today. Felt really good riding it around the block. Realized that I need to rebuild the steering knuckle. So I ordered a new set of upper and lower triple's along with everything else needed to make the rebuild. Ordered the triple's just for piece of mind. They looked a little off while riding. Bike tracked fine, flicked back and forth just fine but it had a movement in the steering head I am not comfortable with.

Just ordered a new set of plastics! WOOT WOOT!!!!! [sm=bounceybounce.gif]

So if everything goes as per planned I should be posting up new pics of the second version of my 1krr in a couple weeks.

Here are the plastics I ordered. What do you think?

Nice, sounds like a nice little project you got going. New plastics would be so nice if not so expensive.

Trust me, I would not be spending money on a new set of plastics if it wasnt for running into a guard rail. Way to much money to spend just to change the look of your bike IMO.

LOL... I know I probably could have just buffed them out....

Funny thing is I took the really bent one into my buddies shop to show off. They just showed me a bucket full of really bent forks. Made mine look straight as an arrow lol..... Some were bent so bad they had torn the housing open line a tuna can..... That must of hurt....

Awesome! And if there's anything I've learned about un-straightening forks, it always means replacing the triples too...go ahead, ask me how successful I was at trying to bend the lower clamp back to level...hmm mmm, not gonna happen...;)

I would love to be able to order a set of new plastics. I might go with a stock color scheme if I could. I like the red and white 929's.

What set did you go with? OEM, stock color? Different stock colors?

Aftermarket. The color is a OEM design, but it has a twist to it. I have never seen these colors used in this combo. It looks like it might be a Euro OEM design or something.
