Default Favorite motorcycle/speed related quotes....

I've seen a bunch of good ones in my fellow members signatures. It would be cool to get them all in one place.
I'll start.

And

Wide open till you see God. Then brake HARD!

Insisting on perfect safety is for people who don’t have the ***** to live in the real world.

I believe in treating everyone with respect, but, first you have to get their attention.

As I shifted into 6th gear, I really don't remember what she said....

Only motorcyclists know why dogs hang their head out the window.

The act of riding is a form of meditation, because the concentration that's required to safely ride a motorcycle tends to focus the mind in a way that eliminates other mental distractions that might interfere with the mission. This creates a single-mindedness that, in effect, displaces the continuous stream of thoughts that normally flow through our consciousness.
Thoughts about what to eat, who to meet, and worries about the common stresses of everyday life, such as pressures from work and home, disappear from our minds during the ride, because the concentration that's necessary to focus on the ride pushes those thoughts far into the background. The result is that the mind becomes refreshed after a ride just like it would after a session of formal meditation or a relaxing vacation.

You live more in 5 minutes on this kind of bike than some people do their whole lives.
- Burt Munro

When someone says "Don't you know those are dangerous?", you say...
...Everyone dies, but not everyone lives.
...You say it like it's a bad thing.
...No, but if you hum a few bars, I think I can fake it.
...It's not the risk that makes the motorcycle experience worthwhile. It's the motorcycle experience that makes the risk worthwhile.
...So is my life, and bikes are my life!

People ask me, "Do you have a girlfriend?" Yeah. Her name's Honda. She lives in the garage.
