So my step dad put up this post on facebook about his father who passed away before i was able to meet him. I knew he had been military but had no idea what he went through.

I did a little research and found out that Giacomo Appice(my step grandfather) was one of the first prisoners of war taken. He was on his way to the beach with 4 friends to go surf. They spent 10 weeks in Viet Minh custody before being released due to political talks.

This is crazy to read about. I wish i could have met the man.

Happy Veteran's Day to all who have served and to all those who do serve. you are all so appreciated. both of my grandfather's were in WWII and served in the pacific theater. i can't begin to understand the sacrifice our vets have made.

Being a veteran and seeing the appreciation people show now is amazing... it has come a long way since I returned from theater. Thank you all that have served and the future generations that will serve.. you are are great and am very proud to stand by your side any day of the week!
