End of the 600RR?

Honda CBR600RR is no more | MCN

If they lose such a substantial chunk of the market, and have no plans to do an overhaul and redesign, is it eventually going to go extinct for us, too, in the states.

And when Honda says they can't supply spare 600rr engines for moto2 beyond 2018, it has to make you think....

EURO regulations.... Probably another reason for the UK wanting out!

I'm surprised the 1000rr meets the regulations....

@demon - read the comments on the MCN article. That did come up hahaha

At first I thought this was a joke thread but that's seriously messed up. What will they race?

Looks like I better keep my 06rr. I wonder if the price will go up on those.

I don't know.... Right now, as I see it, they're an underpowered 1000rr. The styling is pretty close and they're about the same size, and they're marketed to the same group of people. They became so extreme, modern super sports aren't even recommended for new riders....

Don't get me wrong, I loved the 600rr for the short time I had one. And if I was going to buy a dedicated track bike, the 600rr would be on my list...

And a few thousand less dollars....

Those riders that aren't ready for the 600rr, sure as hell won't be able to handle the 1000rr.

I don't really see how the 600RR is an underpowered 1000RR, it feels 100 lbs lighter and very slow in comparison.

I have neither bike, but I just want to confirm that the 600rr does feel a lot lighter when flicking from corner to corner? I always thought I might get the 1000rr, but this would make a difference.

thanks
