doesn't look crashed (shifter is straight and bodywork/mirror looks undamaged)
I would guess oil filter backed out or something to do with an oil line

My guesses: Drain plug fell out, Cracked block, Oil cooler exploded, Craked oil pan, Desmo Valve system exploded. Bottom line: something exploded!

If something exploded out of the engine, there would be a damn sight more oil on the ground than there is. It looks like it's just a "drip, drip, drip" type of leak. Doesn't mean the internals couldn't have blown apart though.

To be honest, it could be a number of things. I'm thinking a seal broke though.

True, but remember that he rolled it to a stop looks like and shut it off...how much more oil is on the road back behind it? It'd bet all of it haha

So the high-temp warning light came on the 999's display after forty-five minutes in the twisties with the other Superbikes. Owner pulls over, nervous, only to find his clutch not clutching. As soon as he parks it and dismounts, he sees a pool of light brown hydraulic clutch fluid gathering on the pavement. He starts to panic and pulls off the carbon-fibre side panel. It was then that he noticed only one of the two radiator cooling fans was working...sonofabitch! No wonder the display read 260 degrees! Aargh!

My guess is someone from the factory accidentally mixed up and put the 06 Honda CBR1000RR gas tank on it, and this is the picture taken moments before the bike burst into a flaming inferno....ok what do I win??[sm=wootwoot.gif]

Clutch broke and instead of free wheeling, locked up...engined overrevved on downshift...valves crashed...owner pushed bike into the Panama Canal...then he got arrested for blocking an international waterway...put in prison...gang-raped by very tough but crossdressing inmates. Was I close?

I'm gonna go with Triax and say rock through the radiator. Not just any rock though, a rock thrown up by the several Hondas in front of him LOL.
