Yesterday was a beautiful day here, so around 2 I ask my boss for the rest of the day off to go ride, and he said yes, thanks for being honest. How awesome is that? I rode for a while and ended up @ applebee's. There was this guy sitting next to me and he saw my gear, he's like you riding, I say no just like to tote this **** with me so I look cool. He tells me about his f4i how awesome it is and I'm like yeah good bikes. He's like what are you on I told him cbr 954rr he says thats a honda right I say uhhhhhhhhhhhh yes it is. So we talk for a while and he says how big is it. I'm like 954...nine hundred fifty four cc's. he says thats like a 1000 yeah close. The longer I talked to the guy the dumber I felt. Is the 954 that little known to people or is he a dumb a$$. I hate when people act smart but aren't. This isn't the first person to ask a similar ?, but being on a honda himself I would have thought he knew.

 

just because they are on the bike.. doesn't mean they are riders.. i would have to say POSER!

 

Some people are just, for the lack of a better word, stupid. That is like asking what rr stands for. It is a big red truck.

 

I know how to spell motorcycle !! HEHE..... sorry, couldn't help myself ! Not everyone who rides "knows" bikes all that well, but I've been working as a mechanic for 15 years, and most peeps don't know jack about cars either, so i guess i'm use to it. I try not to hold it against em. I'm a computer dumbass, so .... Try to teach, feels good and might keep him from looking like a dink the next time he's flappin the gums.

I think he may have been a combo of dumb and a newbie. But not everyone who rides knows much about bikes, they may be just getting into it and are trying to sound cool. But in this case to ask so many questions about what "954" means. That sounds like a dumb poser.

 

I would have told him it's the top speed.

 

just because someone is a rider doesnt mean they know everything about every other bike on the market either. i have an f1, and now i know what a 954RR is, i dont know much more about it than that. does that make me any less of a rider because i dont know everything about your bike? now his questions were pretty newbish, "thats like a 1000 almost," and he was riding a honda so he should have known, but how much do all of you know about GSXRs? (i realize some of you probably know alot, but as a general consensus.) when it comes to zukes i know there is a gs500, GSXR600, 750, 1000, an sv650 and a busa, but other than that, i dont know dick bout zukes. once again, does that mean i am not a real rider? like i said he was def making himself look like a nub, especially not knowing anything bout a honda.

 

I know the 98 gsxr 750 was my favorite bike for a long time, still has a special spot in my heart. SWT bike club 4 life!
