Default Do you have ****ty riding skill day?

Other day, I had ****ty throttle control day, one after another. Do you guys have some day you just seem to be riding ****ty for no reason, even just riding to work in normal condition? Or is this just me, lacking the experience and skill?

Haha its funny you mention this cause earlier today i was sitting in traffic with the clutch in and i guess i put to much weight on my hand because my bike revved to like 7k before i pulled it off. As soon as i heard it i looked at my hand like it had a mind of its own. I have a cramp buster which didnt help any. Im sure i looked like a total tool sitting in traffic. haha

it happens with everything. football stars who suddenly drop every pass in a game, or a basketball player who can't find the net, or a baseball player with a hitless streak.

and then there's the days where everything clicks and you can do no wrong.

yeah, it happens to everyone. Lack of sleep, mind on other things, coordination off just a bit.... your only human and you can't be perfect all the time. Its just with this type of bike, it really lets you know as they are not very forgiving. If you were on a cruiser, you probably wouldn't even notice it. But these bikes amplify your minor mistakes and make them seem huge.

The frequency won't get any better with time or skills. The only difference is you won't be as discouraged when it happens. Right now, you get frustrated and it just doesn't stop. After some more time on the bike, you can convince yourself to just concentrate a little harder without getting upset and make it better instead of worse. But it will still happen from time to time. those are the days your aggressive rides turn into scenic ones.

yea, I have really good day and somedays, I rev in weird moment or in weird way, or I shift weird. And think to myself I gotta get better. I guess I get bit discouraged, I feel like I take one step forward and two step back. Thanks for the encouragement!!

We all have our days. Cars, bikes - doesn't matter. I'll definitely need to shake some rust off after getting back on this spring.

+1 to what everyone said

but to add... once you make one mistake... move on - don't dwell on it or it will more likely lead to more mistakes.

Heh, everyone misses 2nd once in a while. Everyone mutters in their helmet about how poorly they took a line.

But the point is to hit the next shift, glide through the next line and not worry about what happened before
