Do I get rid of her for a 2006 ZX6R 636????
Someone offered me $3950 for my bike. I dont know what to do. I bought the bike for $3k and have probably easily put $950 into her so it would be a wash but I may not get $3950 again Im thinking. Ive been looking at a 2006 Kawasaki ZX6R 636 black and stock with 14k miles for $4000!!!! What do I do guys! I LOVE the looks of the 06 636 way more than my F4i but I think the ergos will be a bit uncomfortable. The power and newer technology (engine and slipper clutch dry weight 360lbs etc..) is obviously a plus but what should I expect?
Anyone have ANY experience with the 05/06 ZX6R 636's?
Thanks!

Guy at work has one. He seems to like it. He also seems to think he can beat me if we raced.
Purely a matter of personal choice, imo. Tho I doubt anyone will fling $4k at you again for yours. I got my 06 with 2.5k miles on her for $4.5k immaculate and people seem to think that was a bit high
- Like I'd race on the street
- Like I'd race in a straight line
- Like his 2-4 months riding experience has granted him the skills to challenge anyone (he's scared to lean)

how is that not a beautiful bike?
i bought my for 4000 as well. 10k miles, full two brothers exhaust, and chrome wheels. I say do it
I came from a CBR 600 F3. Yes, the weight, power, and aggressive riding position stand out. But what I most like about it is the 636 design and how easy it is to ride. It is the handling and nimbleness of the bike that makes me smile. I've been on Aprilia 250, CBR 600 F3, CBR 600RR 2006, and a 2000 R6, and the 2006 636 had the best handling imo. Yamaha was light as hell but the turning angle was smaller. The CBR 600RR is pretty much the same but a bit different riding position.
i know you will be happy with the 636 over the F4i but you should also look into other bikes as well.

jpanside-Yes that is a gorgeous bike...actually the same as the one Im looking at minus the mods
Do you have any pointers for me when checking the bike out again? I hear they have the same CCTL issues as the Honda's..but they call it the kawi tick! Have you needed to have your valves adjusted or had any tranny/nightmare 2nd gear issues?
Is it a night and day difference between ergos from the F4i and are you miserable on long trips? Where the heck do you get the front flush mount blinkers from? Someone said that you can use a 07/08/09 ZX6R's OEM fronts and they should mate up...
Last question...have you had ANY issues with yours so far? CCTL/odd noises or valve ticking or anything?
Thanks!

My 06 636 has an engine tick. Pretty sure it's the CCT so I bought the APE Manual CCT. (Just got it in the mail yesterday .. blue to match the color of my 636).
I hear the APE will basically outlive the bike, and people say once installed, it gets rid of the tick. Lets hope that's my problem.
I haven't ridden my 636 yet, so I hope to God I don't have any tranny issues. I've been plagued with tranny issues with every vehicle I own. lol
I love my 636. I'd definitely get one over the F4i.

Personally I have never been a fan of Kawasaki. I had a 89' KX125 and have a 87' 300 Jet Ski. I had nothing but issues with them. Now I know a lot has changed in 20 years but just turned me off of the brand. Also I am not a fan of how the front fairing looks on the 06 ZX-6R, it looks upside down, I think if the air inlet and headlights were flipped around it would look 10x better. Now I don't know a lot about the bike so I don't know what usually goes wrong but if the rumor of the trans going bad into 2nd gear is true then I would stay away. This is just my . But $4K for your F4i is a pretty good deal so I would consider taking it and upgrading to some new technology.
