RE: did a ride along
haha well if thats the case, the lesson to be learned is if your friend who has been in and out of the hospital the past week with asthma attacks and sucking down his inhaler everyday, its probly not a good idea to wait ten minutes before calling 911 when he stops breathing, bcuz he was dead b4 we got there and than when i get there take over cpr from fire dept and do chest compressions for 15 min.s (5 on scene whilie medic sticks iv and gets an advance airway in, 7-8 mins transport whilie medics pushing drugs, and 4 mins whilie we tried defibing {shocking} and getting him to his spot in the ER... its kinda funny how everyone in the er is complaining about thier arm or leg or headache and than whilie i was riding on the gurrney doing chest compressions on this guy they all shut up ahahha. guess they dont realize they dont have it that bad and that is why they are waiting in the emergency room.
all in all i had a great time, hopfully i can get on a ALS (advance lifesaving skills) 911 ambulance and not a bls (basic lifesaving skills) transfer ambulance.

haha naw the full code is working cpr on a dead guy ( wasnt pronounced dead untill 5 mins after he got to ER and the MD called it). code 3 is lights and sirens and we ran code 3 4 or 5 times which was great.

^Pretty much hahah... it's just terminology and acronyms.
SOB = Shortness of breath.
Full code = Lights and sirens
abd pain = abdominal pain
5150 = crazy dangerous person

no i dont, i just cant stand when they start "crying" than look around ten mins later and stop bcuz no one has come to their aid bcuz they are fine lol, i spent a lot of time in and out of hospitals and say a lot of that.... its nice to help pep when they are trying to help themselves though, like this one guy we picked up from a veterans clinic, he was in veitnam addicted to coke blah blah another one of those sad story vet stories, the dude was having adominal pains, probly has cancer, he said he was exposed to agent orange.... kinda sad but i was happy we cud help the guy i took his blood pressure it was lik 80 over nothing, treated him for shock and medic stuck em with iv and we got his bp up to 110-50or60 in the fifteen min ambulance ride.
