Default Detroit Grand Prix on Belle Isle on a motorcycle

Here we have this place called Belle Isle Island, its a big whole park that is for every type of the person. It closes at like 10pm and the police block off the bridge so no one can enter. There used to be a Grand Prix race down here a few years ago but it eventually stop. The turn marker things are still on the curves if you zoom in on the link http://maps.google.com/maps?q=belle%...N&hl=en&tab=wl and look close enough you can still see them. Most of the guys I ride with are LEO's of all different ranks from Detroit, Dearborn, State trooper, and Southfeild so they just flash their badge and we get to go into the empty close light park. Boy o boy is it fun. I have no idea how those cars makes some of these curves at the speeds they do, its hard enough on a bike. Turns 4,5,6 and seven are no JOKE even 8 and 9 if you come dont slow down enough coming out of Strand dr. straight away. Check this out >>>>>

I'm guessing this is where you took that new guy the other night, right? Which corner did he wreck on?

Looks like loads of fun. I really wanna get some track time in this summer. Unfortunately, I don't have LEO friends to get me in for free.

Naw that was on the freeway. Only a selected few get to hit this with us. This is actually a public park that was retrofitted as a race track. But hey its all the same to me

Mods please dont lock this one. Yes this is a public park but it is closed when we go race here and it is a former track. Closed course with no pedestrians only a few bikes and LEO.

hey dmcb2120, I'm not new to motorcycling but new to the F4i.
You mentioned after 10 PM, do they allow anyone inside in the day?
If yes, would like to ride on this track, please let me know if I can join with you sometime.

Naw they don't let ANYONE in the park after it closes. UNLESS you with my cop buddys and a certain Sargent is at the desk and not in his squad car that night which is like 3-4 nights we get to go. I don't think my buddys are gonna let anybody they don't usually ride with come on the track. Simple because they know we can all ride at those speeds without holding everyone else up or flying and wrecking to the point where we NEED an ems asap

i remember when the grand prix was held in downtown detroit and all you had to do was walk to the end of certian streets to watch the race. then they put up fencing and lattece work so you had to pay to get in and watch the race
