Custom front end
I've already posted this in the 900rr section, but would like more input so I'm posting again here, sorry for the double post. This originally started as looking for a racing front end to do this with, but figure might as well use what I already have and same some $. This is for my '94 900rr, she needs an update.
Bassically I'm looking to do a complete custom job here. I have enough fiberglass experience I think to pull this off. I'm thinking of filling in the round holes, completely smooth the front end off, then using some good style headlight(s) and cutting out the opening for them. This is just a quick drawing I made up at work of how a headlight from a '98 Altima would look in there, I think it'd be pretty sweet! Might have to fabricate a bracket depending on how much the lights weigh, but seems to be the same depth as the lights that are on the bike already.
Anyone have preference for single or double lights? I only drew up a single but would most likely do double since this light is only a single bulb and I want it as bright as I can get. Also plan to add a HID light system to further illuminate things. It's starting to warm up out here so I should start work soon. If anyone knows of other headlights similar to this one let me know, not totally decided yet, still open to ideas! Soon to have a completely custom front end...

cool idea, somebody posted a 600rr a while back that was pretty much the reverse of what you are planning, they put round heads lights on a new bike.
just to throw some thoughts out there.
if you going to go with those style head lights you are probably going to have to change the whole front profile of the bike since the original is pretty flat to acomadate the round lights.
what you could do is get a race nose for an RR (600 or 1000) make a mold of the front portion of it, then cut the front part of you 900 nose off (but leaving all the rear setion where it mounts up intact.) and mold it so it fits the profile of the new nose, that way you could mount the head lights in and they would fit right.

Swap to the round lights? Hell I'll give mine away when I'm done with them, really can't stand them.
I need to check the profile on the headlights before figuring our if I'll have to modify the front like your talking about, but good call

this is the bike i was thinking of, I remembered it wrong, it isn't quite what you are doing, more of a street fighter, but still pretty cool.
