Cracking down on motorcyclists ?
Guy that owned a Harley was telling me about the popo in Alexandria, VA. They would walk down a line of bikes and if they could put their night stick into the pipe, the owner would get a noise violation. I asked how they could issue a citation when the bike wasn't even on... the guy couldn't answer it. I've never seen this happen and the story really sounded like the guy was exaggerating. Keeping the warning in mind, I take it easy when going through Alexandria being how I really don't know the noise ordances. Never had anything happen but I also don't want anything to happen.

In the NYC area but ride out throughout the tri-state areas.
man, you guys have it good still...
in florida, things are rediculous now. $1000 fine for incorrect license plate, immediate indefinte impound for anything wreckless plus $1000 fine, etc. cops pull you over and harrass you just to make sure its your bike and that you have an actual m/c license.
the worst part its really just sportbikes that they're coming for. they don't pull over hardleys or any other cruisers.

wow now thats bad having a $1000 fine and towing...leaves any riderz to likey quit riding or do some off road riding... or ride a cruiser...lol
Yeah man Fl weather is awesome ..but I still ride all year around as long as its 50 degree or warmer..in good...
you see the Florida is making monsters out of the mc riders!!! i mean would you honestly pull over to get a ticket for your license plate being mounted in a wired position and get a fine of 1000$.... thats what i thought.....
i really don't do anything stupid out where the cops hang out much. And i try to make my bike as legal as possible. They didn't mess with no plate light on my f3, or an aftermarket exhaust. On my f4i though...i have a plate light now.
i guess the only thing would be insurance. If i were on my own policy, they wanted $5000 a year !!!!!! Thats more than i paid for my bike!!

FL just messes with you if you do wheelies, and pretty harshly at that. Alot of cops don't even know about the $1000 fine thing, or the fact that license plates fall under that same legislation.
other then that your bike can sound like dynamite sticks going off in rapid succession while riding down the street in flip flops and sun glasses and no one will care.
if you do get pulled over and don't have a license, one of 2 things will happen A.) the cop will give you a summons 30 days from then, that you have to show up to, once you show up you have 90 days to present a license (or pay a fine?. I am not sure what happens if you don't), or B.) the cop just tells you to take care of that soon.
in either case they send you on you merry way, with you motorcycle still between your legs where it belongs.
did i mention we can ride year round?
