childhood songs
What was your favorite childhood song growin up? I forgot the name of mine, but it goes "In the jungle, the mighty jungle, the lion sleeps tonight." My dad used to sing that song to me and my lil brother if we couldnt sleep at nigth. Just remembered it cause im watchin Coming to America and it has the beat to it in the very begining of the movie. Anyways, what about everybody else?

when i was younger i would always fall asleep to the radio and almost every night they play that cats in the cradle song and it never failed, every night i would wake up when itwas playingthen go right back to bed.. ironically, i can somewhat relate to the song which is maybe why i always woke up... thats definitely the most significant but my favorites are the theme songs to all the good cartoons like, captian planet, tmnt, etc.... lol
I did not have your typical childhood songs. Everytime this topic or a similar topic comes up, this is the first song that pops into my head.

It was my dad's answering machine message for years. LOL.....
Should have seen the look on my teachers face when it was "bring music to school day" in the fourth grade.

"Don't put another dime in the jukebox" by the Flirts... http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JYROmIPzdQ8I blame my dad playing his 80's cassettesway too many times aroundme.Listening to it now, by the second verse I wanna rip my ears off.
My Dad used to play Buddy Holly on the 8-Track all the time and when we had a power outage, he would wind up the ole victrola (sp?) and play some classical. I remember allot of 80's stuff, like walk like an egyptian by the bengals and allot of cars always being on the clock radio to wake us up for school. Buddy Holly is probably my all time sentimental favorite though.
