Wow! im going to print that out and post at work. I am an auto tech and 3 coworkers i know weld for side jobs and personal reasons. hope i can prevent this from happening to them

Holy ****.

I lusted after a Brew mountainbike frame several years ago - this sounds exactly like something I would end up doing. Can't tell you the number of times I've gotten carb cleaner or brake kleen blowback in my eyes or mouth due to not using proper face protection.

Stuff like this scares the crap outta me.

I think you could say the same thing about working on your bike, lots of warnings in the manual about brake pad dust, unleaded petrol & exhaust fumes.
I had trouble with my K100 beemer's fuel injection (turned out to be fuel reg). Anyway, our garage was not even enclosed, but trying to get the thing running properly, reving the crap out of it for ages. Went upstairs, had a coffee & turned on the TV, could not figure why I couldn't focus on the center of the screen, then massive headache & almost passed out, then hours of the worst hangover. Carbon Monoxide poisoning.

What is not mentioned is that tetrachloroethene is absorbed directly into the skin and causes cancer.

Wow, that really sucks for the author of that article. He's right, you really do have to know the materials you are working with.

I can't imagine waiting that long before going to a doctor or ER, especially with those symptoms.
