Cbr issues (electrical) Long story but hang in there

hello im new here and just want to put in my piece. First i bought my cbr from a friend and had to fix her. List includes: Water pump, Coolant resivior hose, New stator, regulator rectifier and battery, oil change with new k&n filter (oils should be at three and a half qts with filter change. three without...not recomended), brake pads, and all new fuses (just to keep them fresh). (soon will be putting in racing timing adjuster... old one is done for i think.) Also replaced my battery terminal ends because they looked bad. (Very frayed and even looked rusty... ew) Most of my knowledge is learn as you pull it apart and i am a very hands on guy so i spent the better part of a year fixing her and making improvements. I only replaced the stator and regulator rectifier because the bike was not charging. I actually have just figured out the problem and sort of feel special for not thinking of it sooner. I wired in LED turn signals and soon after had problems with my bike charging. I searched multiple forums (including this one) and saw that it was usually the stator or rectifier or even the battery! So i replaced all three. (i cannot use a volt meter so i couldn't test them sorry) Long story short the battery died again. Turns out when i wired in the new signals the led had only two wires and the harness had three. To make the lights work i had to run both positives together and the ground to the ground wire of the new light. In doing this i effectively canceled the charging system. Put the old ones back on and presto my bike lives again! (i only replaced them cuz i dropped the bike and smashed the lense on my signal... so i thought i upgraded.) I also pulled the entire wire harness apart and re-wrapped in after checking every connection and splicing point! I put roughly 500 into this bike and installed everything myself. (btw most of my trips where roughly 16 miles and i did get stranded once in the middle of a biusy intersection) Hope anybody with electrical problems can learn from this. thanks
