Car audio woes

Hi all,

I am leaving the realms of bikes here and asking for some help with the cage. I've got a 2004 Santa Fe - I just picked up a double din dvd/nav system. I am pretty proficient when it comes to car audio installs (done a bunch on other cars of mine and friends) so I figured this would be just as easy. Not so!

I wired the new deck's harness to the wiring kit, and plugged it all into the stock harness, and notta. Deck doesn't power on. Not only that, the dash clock is dead, no cig lighter, and the power mirrors are dead. I checked all the fuses that are associated with these circuits and found all fuses are good (I checked them with a multimeter even). Here's the thing - when I plug the harness in, I got 12V to the constant power line, and there is power to the clock.

Previous owners had installed a remote starter, which was a real hack job, but I didn't touch it, so I doubt that has anything to do with it.

Anyone with experience in car audio, or with these korean cars have any ideas?

- do you have a 12v power supply you can test the unit outside the car? just hook up the 12v constant, switched and ground and see if the unit powers on.
- so when you plug into the car harness, NO fuses blow? You just appear to lose power to the listed circuits?

Hey. I got it figured out. Was the remote car starter. Total hack job on the install and a wire came loose. Only took about 6 hours to figure out!

People! Solder your connections! Twist and tape is no good!
