can't ride: frustrated
Service guys are the weakest link in the customer service chain, in my opinion. They can be a hell of a wrench, but lacking in personal skills. They don't get their jobs because they are "good with people". When I have to call service guys, from my sister stores, half the time I hang up and say , "What a dick!" Here is a chart that seems to sum it all up:
Ah, what did they backorder? Usually the word "backorder" means the parts are here, butwe haven't got it fixed yet. Heck if they fixed it to quickly they couldn't justify the high bill!
The part is a carb "T." I guess it's kinda like a feed line from the main fuel line to the individual carbs. He said that they made up to 2003, so he said they shouldn't be that hard to get. They upgraded my backorder status from "normal" to "urgent." Probably just blowing smoke up my *** about that.
I just got a phone call from the Honda shop. I was soooo excited to see their name on the caller ID. My voice was shaking with glee as I answered on the second ring; I didn't want to seem to eager to take their call.
"Aaron, this is Bill from Honda."
"Hi, Bill."
"Good news and bad news. We got your T's in yesterday and got them installed. Bad news is when we were putting the tank back on we noticed you have a leaky fuel valve. If you want us to fix it,a new valve is $178, but we won't charge you for labor since we've had your bike so long."
"Really? Why didn't you catch that when you were taking it apart? I told you when I dropped the bike off that I thought it was leaking. I could have gotten a used one off eBay for alot cheaper than $180."
"I'm sorry, sir, but we just didn't see it. We'll have your bike ready for you tomorrow though. Honda did change the part # on those T's. Turns out instead of being $32 each, they're only $7 each so you're saving some money there."
"Fine call me when it's ready and I'll pick it up tomorrow."
OMG!!!! What a jackass! How could they miss that? The damn valve was wet with gas after every time I rode the bike! I wasn't positive it was leaking, but where there's smoke there's fire!

The synched carbs are giving me better throttle response, and my new chain is clunking in first gear. I'm back biotches!!
