RE: Calculate Ground Zero....
Why does anyone not believe the impact of an asteroid being so devastating either? First off, there's no witnesses to previous asteroid attacks...and secondly, it's a huge ****ing rock big enough to make it through our atmosphere and obviously fast enough to travel through space...probably being sucked in by first the Sun and eventually our own Earth's gravity.
The ***** would do some SERIOUS damage if it actually did impact.

RE: Calculate Ground Zero....
Only discussing Russian hardware here
First of all the weaponry being discussed here are low yield except for the astroid of course, and even the older version of the SS 18 has double the yield of anything mentioned here and The Mod 5 carries 10 MIRVs, each having a higher yield than the Mod 4 warheads. The Mod-5 warheads have nearly twice the yield of the Mod-4 (approximately 750 kt to 1.5 Megaton) according to Western estimates, though Russian sources suggest a yield of 2 Megaton each. The increase in the Mod 5's warhead yield, along with improved accuracy makes it one hell of an effective deterrent. US negotiators allowed the Russian Federation to retain 90 of the SS-18 silos. After complying with the START II silo conversion protocol, the Russian Rocket Forces will be permitted to replace 90 of the SS-18s with a smaller, single-warhead missile. But if one of these big boys happen to fall upon your city. Just expect astroid devastation and a little more but the real question is, in 2002, a figure for the SS 18 of 270 were in the possession of the Russians in 2003. They had supposedly had destroyed all except for 104 but in 2004 at Surovatikha, near Nijny-Novgorod an additional 44 were discovered. So the question really is. How many have been sold off, and how many have really been destroyed and who has the capability to use them if they have them. It takes a little bit of infrastructure to actually get this thing off the ground and operational

RE: Calculate Ground Zero....
Yes, Pete you're correct but as I just discuss how many of those SS 18 made it into your part of the world. Granted is not the wealthiest part of the world, but when the Soviets were really hurting financially. Even those countries without diamonds and gold would've had enough money to obtain them from some starving general. I was going to post information on the Chinese capability, but a lot of that information is still classified. I could not provide proof via the Internet or anything else, if called on it but I will guarantee you don't count that dog out of the hunt
