Busted TV help please

So any tv geeks out there this is for you. I have samsung 40" LCD 530 series. Anyway so long story short, i got it for free from a bar where it was struck by lightening and this fried the power cord. They thought it was trash so i took it, replaced the power cord and it worked fine. Then it started to turn off randomly almost like its over heating? but then it would turn back on by itself (maybe haunted who knows at this point). Now after the hurricane we lost power again and surge went through the house and now the tv wont turn on at all. I took it apart and the circuit board with all the inputs on it is buzzing. Also if i disconnect that circuit board the lcd lights turn on so this gives me hope the screen works. The tv was connected to a surge protector both times everything happened. So my main question is does that mean that input board is fried but the power board is okay cause the tv turns on when the board is disconnected? Or do i need to poke it with a multimeter a whole bunch and do more testing and if so how? I think im pretty good with electronics so i am willing to dive into it further especially since it was free :).

Samsung? Check the capacitors on the power board. The ends of them should be flat...if they are domed out they are bad. Replace the bad ones and the tv should work fine.

Sorry I probably should have said the first thing I checked was the capacitors. They are all flat. The only reason I don't think it's the power board is cause the LCD screen will still light up. If it was the power board the LCD screen shouldn't light right?

I used to have a samsung tv that did the exact same thing when it was actually under warranty. Went through two power supplies and it's now in my sons room working like a champ. I'd bet on power supply. Most likely what it sounds like is going on is that you're buzzing bored is being backfed through the bad power supply.
