Borrow your bike?
my cousin , olny cause he let me ride his new F2 back in 91 a bunch, now tables have turned ive got the bikes and he couldnt afford one now. and my jedi master rider mr steve shiftkey , but to a stranger, nope.
What is this significant other business? Does that mean like my wife or something cause I wouldn't even let her ride my bikes. I'll only swap with someone. If they want to try mine while I'm on their's then thats ok but I wont just let someone take it for a spin without me. around.
As long as I knew them well enough to know that they could afford to buy it if they dropped it. Other then that I don't care, my chit's old. If I had a 2003 or newer, then no way I'd let anyone ride it.
So nobody would let their wife/gf or husband/bf take their bike out? Assuming they can ride a bike, of course.
If my girlfriend rode, I hate to say the answer would still be 'No'.... with a small cavaet: if it were a brand new, stock bike I'd let her. Even though she's completely capable of replacing it with a 09, I'm putting too much sweat in this bike.
I really wouldn't want to hate her... even for a tiny bit of time

i wouldnt let that guy ride my bike
theres only 3 ppl i would let ride my bike, and only 2 that actually have
my best friend since 9th grade in highschool. we rode together alot when he had a bike and he doesnt have one now, so i let him take a quick spin on mine sometimes
my step dad sicne hes been riding for like 30 years
and my other buddy who has been riding for like 4 years and never had an accident so i would trust him.
anyone else.. i wont even let them sit on it, or stand too close without me being on the other side

It's funny... I will let my brother ride off up the road on my 600RR ... I won't even let my sis sit on it, she's *that* clueless, not worried for the bike, but, she really would just end up dumping it in the canal ..lol

My buddy asked me to ride his bike to his new house and he would drive his car. I said ,yea If you want me to ride it then I will. I dont know how I let it happen but I let the clutch out too fast at a stop and the bike jerked, I ended up dropping it. **** happens and when you let someone else ride your bike you have no control.
So NO!
So NO!
Do you know what I noticed .. the RR is very stallable over the F3, I don't know what it is ..maybe a much lighter crankshaft or something but anyone who has owned F2/F3 and gone to RR knows what I mean ... get those revs a couple hundred rpm too low and wham, stalled!! .. what happens when you stall?? .. a lurch forward and the risk of dropping and scuffing your beautiful bodywork ... I am mostly paranoid of folks stalling my bike and just letting it fall through a clumsy lurch forward ...

I am a bit particular but have a couple of buds who have full access to anything I own. I even keep a coat and helmet in their size here. Both guys come in from out of town a few times a year and hell yes they are WELCOME to ride my stuff. One buddy used to endurance road race my bike with me. He wadded it up one weekend and gave me his bike to ride while the parts he ordered to repair mine came in. They do the same for me. I encourage my wife to ride my bikes also and she does. She likes her own best but likes to try different stuff I have around. Test rides when selling a bike are tough. I have cringed a few times about letting a Dooffus test ride a bike. Got burned once a long time ago, kid took my (for sale) Norton and he flogged it with no intention of buying it. It was a quiet evening and I could hear the speed shifts 3 miles away. Tranny shaft broke the next day. Hey between good people and bikes, the people win with me!
Funny thing is I don't think I have ever gone to look at a motorcycle and been refused a test ride. I do show up with gear and am a little older these days.
