yep, thats what i do, i change my pants as well, because i wear black kevlar jeans actually cargo pants and they have wide boot legs so i can slip them over the boot..
having shattered my ankle in a previous bike accident, i rarely wear sneakers and jeans and always wear a quality jackets and gloves..
at the begining of this season i got hit and was "just" sore for a couple days with no rash!!!
if i didnt have good stuff on, i think it would have been a tad different and def would have ruined the season for me...
anyway make sure you let us know how it works out..

Actually I wear a pair of smx-1 riding boots now kinda like a taller show still comfortable to walk around in. most of my pants end up rideing up my leg creating the gap of shin showing between the boot and end of pants and I hate that. More so reason than any of why I want some tall boots, actually I found a pair of smx-4 that I might get instead of the joe rockets, I wasn't to fond of the bad quality reviews and saw a lot of bad zippers reviews.
