Hi gang... latest from the Lane story. Turned himself in this afternoon, released on 15k bond. DUI, manslaughter, drive'n on suspended liscence. Alcohol level... .192 . Clean and free, Ripp'n

 

Way to go super star! Actually it is a damn shame because he was so talented, but even worse for the family and friends who lost a loved one. It is that Harley mentallity...party hard then ride into the sunset. Poker run, anyone?

Something like Mr. Lane went to pass traffic over a double yellow and met with a bike head on. Killed the rider and Mr. Lane had a few too many to be driving.

I know we all make mistakes, but that's a tough one to deal with. A motorcycle icon taking out a rider just makes for an even more ironic story.

 

I googled it...and I guess from what I read was that a drunk billy lane (BAC .192?)was passing a car on a double yellow in his dodge truck and smeared a guy on a moped, killing him instantly. The guy was a retired child pyschologist and a very decent guy from what I can gather. Seems like another story of folks who deserved to live but didn't...thanks to someone not responsible for themselves or who simply didn't care.....again, just my .02

Ya - I say let him have it... he killed a guy while drinking and driving... I think in this day and age we should all know that it's not a good idea -- even if the only reason you think it might not be a good idea for is the fincial and social cost of getting caught.

There are a lot of a$$hats on the road, and the more we get off the road the better... just because this guy builds cool bikes ( I like his work ) doesn't mean he should be treated any differently... it just makes me sick that you can do everything right on the roads and still get pasted by some a$$hat. It's people like this that make the road dangerous...

 

A biker killing another biker in a huge cage... he's lost all respect from me.

 

That sucks i really looked up to him and his work. It just shows we all are human and make mistakes.
