Here is what I don't get....when it died nothing came on, well very low lights very very low. Then this afternoon/night I turn key and brighter lights, but won't turn over....ideas?

 

I think you bought a lemon, I hope you got a great deal on it. sorry I have no clue what going on with you bike, I wish you luck on getting it fixed soon..

 

If you let a battery sit, it will "increase" in power. Not much, but enough to make the lights brighter.

I know what your problem is. You had a good running F2 and then sold it and bought another bike! And I am guessing the bike is your only transport!!

You have an electrical problem. You really need a multi-meter and a service manual! I am still guessing you have a bad boltage regulator. There is also a very good chance the stator you replaced was not bad.

You might want to buy a battery charger on your next walk to Walmart!
