barry bonds

Bonds is definitely an ***-hat, but I wouldn't have minded catching that #756 homerun ball. Who cares if it won't sell for $3M like McGwire's #70 ball? I'd leave the game immediately, take a pic with my cell, go straight to the nearest internet cafe and put that biatch on eBay.

RE: barry bonds
Colin Herd on ESPN radio said to sell that ball as fast as you can. In about six years, Arod will hold the title, and what will that ball be worth then? And what if he gets convicted for steroids...how much is your baseball going to be worth then? Get you $500K and let the next guy worry about if he should give it back. Even Bonds said if the guy caught it, it is his. Sell that bitch!!!

RE: barry bonds
Some of you crack me up, really. Harassing Bonds for his arrogance is one thing, but to hold his *cough* alleged steroid use against him is another. The naivete exuded by some of you is incredible if don't think nearly all top athletes are juicing. Sure, he's a douche bag for cheating, but if you want to call him a douche bag for cheating, then nearly all professional and quite a few top level college athletes need to be lumped into that category.
The biggest joke is someone complaining about a pitcher juicing, what the hell are steroids going to do for Clemens? News flash: steroids won't make you a more accurate pitcher. The only forseeable benefit for a pitcher to use steroids would be injury prevention/rehabilitation.
How come the NFL isn't getting any attention over steroid use? Steroid use in the NFL is much much more prominent, and has an infinitely greater potential to increase a players ability. What about Lance Armstrong and his usage of EPO? While definitely not a steroid, still an illegal performance enhancer.
As for the "I might be able to overlook his steroid use if he wasn't so arrogant" group, get over it, really. Basically what you're saying is that an athlete is allowed to cheat by way of steroids, but only if their really nice person? I've never heard such a dumb statement.
I'll give you another item to think about. I personally know of a few Police and Correctional Officers who juice, are they cheating against the criminals? When was the last time you heard a convict bitch about a cop only being able to catch him because he was on regimen of 500mg Testosterone/week. People bitch about steroids for one reason: they work.
It's funny how fans want to see big numbers and freakish athletes, but then when they find out how the players achieve such numbers they create a media witch hunt disguised as a "save the children" campaign.

gringo brings up a number of good points....why should/would we look the other way if the guy was nice?
i doubt that 70% of players where using steroids, but that is somehting we'll never probably know.
its been proven (somehow) that steroids will not help pitchers throw harder, only recover from injury and between starts faster and better. this is a big deal though especially with a long grueling season.
HGH is not tested for, to test for that MLB would have to require a blood test, that is the only way possible to detect it.....personally i think that is what barry bonds is taking.
and yes WHY do we look the other way with football players?
last point.....yes barry is an *** hat.

gringo.....you are misinterpreting some people...at least me....i particularly am appalled with bonds and his steroid use not because of him as compared against other players now....but him dethroning Hank who DIDN'T use any type of performing enhancing drugs....
two, we aren't talking about the NFL...but yeah....roid use there sucks too....
it's not that i could get over his steroid use and would "forgive" him if he wasn't a *****, i am just saying he would blend in with all the others you don't really notice....he makes it a point to be the center of attention...if he didn't and he just did what he did, i probably wouldn't care...he brings this scrutiny on himself and he enjoys it, so yes, if he was a little humbler he would blend in with all the other juicers....but he doesn't...his choice....
and talking about police officers...that's a stupid comment.....POs aren't making $15 million dollars....aren't claiming that they can do this or this because of natural talent.....etc......comparing a sport to POs going after criminals is not even remotely alike....
finally, don't assume because i chastise bonds that i am a person who likes the "big numbers"...i could care less if another record is ever broken....i could care less if homeruns went down long as a good game was played...you characterizing all baseball fans as huge play mongers wanting more homeruns and scoring is baseless....i would take a well pitched baseball game striking out 12 or a 2-hitter over a game with 10 homeruns.....don't assume things.....

^^Not specifically aimed at you Hayden, just a statement in general.
Then you truely are a sports purist ffingers, none of my statements were aimed at you in particular. I'm merely speaking from a standpoint that people should not be shocked to find out that top level athletes (yes, that even means the olympics) use illegal performance enhancers. I personally have no issue with it. It's available to everyone, and I like to see outward limits of the human body pushed further and further, whether that be by chemical means or not.
Were I in the shoes of Barry Bonds, I'd probably have the same attitude. The ignorant masses created a witch hunt, and more than likely when approached and harassed by the media I'd be the most arrogant SOB imagineable just for shock value. He's played a part in digging his own hole, but the ground was originally broken by the media who is, as you well know, out to save the world.
It's not even remotely alike because police officers aren't your idols. Fact: Steroid use is a victimless crime. Your children aren't going to grow up and be steroid junkies because Barry Bonds broke Hank Aarons record while on them. You're right, POs aren't making $15 million dollars, neither are any of the amateur athletes using steroids, nor are countless sick people prescribed them to treat muscle-wasting diseases. Your choice to single out a professional athlete for steroid use based solely on record breaking has me perplexed, to say the least. Surely it can't be from an unfair advantage standpoint, in order for you to take that road, equal conditions would have to be met for both Bonds and Aaron, including but not limited to quality of pitchers, field length, and even bats used.
I didn't "characterize all baseball fans." I categorized most as sheeple, which is exactly what they are.

it tells kids that it's ok to use them. drugs is drugs, the juice, clear, etc. are drugs and they have side effects and they have victims...the user, abuser and loved ones around them are all victims. get your so called 'facts' straight before you give out false 'facts'.

as for the witchhunt....i dunno....it started i believe with them wanting to clean things up....i think the most obvious guilty players, rather than trying to figure out a way to clean up the mess in a dignified manner, they denied it....hard....i would too, i don't blame them for that....but as more and more probing happened...players started realizing, it's better to just give it up, admit it and move on....bonds, rather than stay out of the argument or admit it (i can understand staying out of it) decides to ridicule the masses for what everyone obviously knows is true...i feel pissed that he thinks i'm that stupid (no i don't really take it that personal, just sayin)....i think it is horrible he lied in court....i think it's even worse he wants people to believe he did this with any type of "edge".....
as for me getting on athletes about use....it's more of an issue to me because, maybe once again, i am a purist (and i played sports for many years, even had a partial scholarship offered), that athletes shouldn't use.....it goes beyond our capabilities.....fine....if that is the way it is and everyone uses, ok....then eveyone admit it and move on....but that isn't whats happening...you have people denying it and playing dumb....and what if 50% are and 50% aren't....that advantage the 50% have is completely unfair.....whether it is common practice or not doesn't make it fair....
if you want to accept the use...that's ok....but everyone should.....and as for records...if we are accepting this, have another record book....a juiced record book because human capabilities are pushed beyond and it's not fair to compare (i know this is ridiculous, just for illustrative purposes)....and i know things have changed over the years....but natural ability will progress greater over time.....and the leap bonds took with the use isn't fair to remove Hank's record....
and i don't condemn those who need the drugs....don't confuse that...but i also don't condone those that use for no other reaso
