Even if it pays comparatively, You're going to have a more credible reccommendation than Wendy's. Think of it as being one of your future employers. Is this guy only capable of getting hired at just fast food joints, or is he more employable than that?
I say go for it. And don't be afraid to apply for a sales staff position. Enthusiasm and knowledge of the product will get you far in sales.

One of my bosses once told me when I was younger "it's always better to move up than to stay where you are"
He meant if a great opportunity comes around, sometimes its worth taking the chance and taking it cause it might be better.
I'm gonna be straight with you... if you work at Wendy's for 5 years without coming in a day late the whole time you may get the job as store manager three states over where you make $18k a year... The thing about fast food is there is always someone out there who has more experience than you and just needs a job while they're looking for a better job. You can get a job as a sales rep at a lot of places makin double that without having a college degree.
A buddy of mine works at one down here in ATL, so I know what the guys at Cycle Gear make in Georgia (sales reps in the $20-$25k range)

RE: anyone work for cycle gear?
it seams all the jobs they have are for sales. i think i will apply. i mean i am cool with all the managers at wendys so i can go back when ever i want or work 1 in 30 days to keep raises. but with college coming up i have very very flexable hours at wendys so i can always get my 35-40 hours a week. what the hell i might as well apply and see what its like. the stores not open so i gues i can only apply online? o and 1 main reason i was thinking about not switching is becuase in a month or 2 i am going to be taking online classes to become a certified pharmacy tech and that pays like 12-14 bucks a hour. so like 4 months i will be looking for a job and would hate to quit after 4 months.

I would take it. I love fast food, but i couldn't be around it all the time. I've worked at restaurants and i know it's hell.
I love bikes, and could be around them all day. And imagine how much you'll learn. If you get an interview, make sure to express your love for bikes. Your CBRforum membership might even strike them well. And riding in won't hurt.
