Anyone got new Undies for sale?
I was out riding today, down near the beach just cruising alone. At a light a guy came to me with one of those look-a-like harley wannabe bikes with enough chrome to blind people for miles. He pulled up next to me I looked over at him and opened my visor, gave a friendly smile and nod. He gave me a look like "Yeah whatever" but nodded back. When the light turned green he pulled ahead with his pipes making more noise than 100 sexually frustrated gorillas in a barrel. I let him pull ahead and just thought "ok....." I followed behind for a bit noticing he was riding right in the center of the road the entire time. Mind you this road is traveled heavily at slow speeds by cars and had massive oil build up and it was like 75-80 degrees out. When we go to the next red light, I pulled up next to him and politely suggested for him to be careful of the oil patch on this street. He must have been insulted because when the light turned green he did his same ritual as before but this time when he was about 20- feet ahead of me he throttled it and wiped out, I had enough room to stop controlled but his bike's chrome exploded all over the road and I almost hit some piece of dressing that came off. Scared the crap right out of me. I pulled over past him and went back to see if he was ok. He then proceeded to get mad at me, like I stopped to make fun of him or something. He had major road rash on his shoulder. (Wasn't wearing anything more than a tank top and turtle shell helmet) When I saw he was healthy enough to get irate at me for stopping to help, I walked back to my bike and left before this idiot decided to how did he put it?..."Kick the crap out of a ricer" I believe were his words. As I rode off I couldn't help snicker to myself, Thinking to myself yeah make another "wise" decision and trhreaten bodily harm to a guy packing a .45 thats only trying to help you out and make sure you are ok. I hope all that chome was expensive...Moron
Sounds to me the guy has real issues.
Personally I don't have any issues with non-sportbike riders, but I'm getting tired of the stuck up attitudes. I use to wave to pretty much every bike I passed if I felt it was safe to take my hand off the bar, but now days I wave to sportbike riders 'cause most all are friendly and to everybody else that waves first.
What I don't get is the stuck up attitude? Is it cause our bikes are faster, quicker, turn better, stop quicker, or is it cause we are better protected and choose to use DOT approved helmets?

now that is some serious KARMA.
What a ********, its common knowledge that the roads can turn to icerinks in certain conditions, or is it only sportsbike riders that know this? i'm definately sik of the rudeness we are shown from fellow bike enthusiasts, i honestly couldnt care if your on a cbr, softail, postie, dirt, motard, trike, i dont care.
i've had to restrain myself from the nod in passing to only those who i believe will respond, mostly fellow sportsbikers. its sad that it has to be so seperatist though.

To be honest, the probable reason he was being stuck up is two fold.
1) He was on a "Hog" which to be honest cracks me up because my dad was a hardcore HD rider and had no issues riding with just about anything on 2 wheels.
or
2) his bike was alot Prettier than mine (For now) My bike has some scuff marks and some cracked plastics but still she runs like a champ, and if i wanted to, I could have so blew that guy away in a race, but why bother....?
(Both reasons are still idiotic)
I been thinking about it all day since for some reason I feel at fault for this guys messing up his ride. Maybe it was me warning him of the oil patch. I wouldn't doubt it if he looked at me on my "ricer" and thought "Punk kid, don't tell me how to ride" and got angry. Either way I think from now on I'll just let idiots be idiots and learn on thier own when I see them riding. I wasn't trying to be condescending, just trying to help a guy out who to me looked like a n00b who just blew a wad of dough on a chromed out ride.
Also a question for you all. Was I wrong to leave the scene of the accident in your oppinion? To me it just seemed like my presence was only going to result in negative outcomes. But still I can't help but feel bad for some reason.

nah man u did teh right thing stopped and made sure he was ok you felt threatened about being there now if he was lying there un concious and bleeding and u took off maybe that wouldve been bad but sounds liek u tried to do the right thing overall ... sometimes bad things happen and we cant control them, but maybe next time that guy wont be so smug when riding.. hope he is ok though.. otherwise how can he learn any better
Yeah, even if he acted like a total dillhole, I hope he's ok too. Seemed fine to me from what I saw. He did have some gnarly road rash on his shoulder though. If he wasn't being such a jerk I'd have snapped a picture of it all with my cell phone. But as the case was, I think that would have only pissed this guy off more than he already was.
i agree, you did the right think, actually went out of your way to be helpful, i know if someone told me the roads around here are slippery i would be greatful!!! i'm in aust. i don't wave to harley riders either, they don't wave back, i know a couple of guys, mates who have harleys and we ride together, maybe its the money thing, you know spending 30/40 grand on a tractor that don't go around corners...
You did the right thing by stopping to check if he was ok. Not sure why he was such an A hole though. After being a jerk to you, as you were getting on yours and ready to go you should've yelled "make sure you pick all your chrome **** off the road, I don't want to slip on it later". That would've been the icing on the cake for that guy.
*****!
Too funny. I wasn't thinking like that at the time. I was thinking more like HOLY **** followed by "Hey, you ok?" finished off with a big "WTF? peace out A-hole"
The wipe out really looked a whole lot worse than what it was thanks to the chrome stuff scattering all over the place. The best way I can describe it is, if you snowboard or ski, it's what they refer to as "Having a yard sale" LOL and this guy most certainly did.
Ok, I am going to quit laughing now, just in case Kharma is watching me.
};D
Thanks for the chuckle though, I needed it.
