anyone else miss their old bikes?
I miss my F2, it was soooo clean. Laquer black paint, wet sanded between three cloats of clear, chromed swingarm and rear wheel, lots of carbon fiber, Titanium D&D, ran like a top, upgraded to my 06 1KRR, but still miss the thing all the time.
I went to a motorcycle museum last year, and since I've been riding for 39 years, I saw quite a few of the models I used to own. My 1st 4 cylinder was a Kwaka Z650, which made me realise that I loved Jap bikes.
Most practical bike was my Beemer twin, but bland as hell, had a Beemer K100 four cylinder, but it was trying to hard to beat the Jap bikes & at the time I thought the parts where expensive, (that was until I bought my Guzzi!!) which rewarded your riding efforts with a bad back, sore neck & screaming wrists, handled well though, & is remembed with some fondness as it was the 1st bike that I was able to get my knee down with. Most memorable bike was a Moto Morini 500, which I did not have for that long as I could not get used to the brake & gear change lever being opposite to wot they are on most other bikes, & nearly killed myself a few times stamping on the gear lever trying to brake (which by the way has not effect at all).
I tend to think that we remember our bikes through rose coloured glasses, but thats ok innit.
I've had my CBR nine years in October and to para phrase Mr Heston, "...out of my cold dead hands", which considering my age, may be sooner that I care to think about.

hehe, i dont miss my first car, bike, "encounter" with a female, etc. Everything gets better with time. My first bike was an f3 that only would start if you rubbed it the right way. My first car would only start if you rubbed it the right way and talked to it real nice at the same time...
i miss a crf i used to have. i wish i never sold it. im on my first street bike though. hope i never have to sell it. i want a new 600RR when i get out of trade school (MMI) in 2 years. then convert my F3 to a track day bike. then i have an excuse to keep it.
Hell yeah i miss my old bikes....love my new one, but i miss the old.
Here's my second bike (my first one was the exact same year and model as the second)
