any psychiatrists?
with ambien you are supposed to get a full 8hr sleep for it to wear off. without that 8 you will wake up and still allucinate. allucination is normal with this drug. im an air traffic controller and as you have heard on the news(wont get into that), but one of our guys is on it and is going thru the same state. as of now he is going thru a sleep session with the dr. (basiclly monitoring his sleep habbits and activity thruout the day and night).
yeah i dont nap during the day cuz i know its only gonna keep me up even later at night if i do. Im up by like 9 on mondays and 10 or 11 every other day of the week since i always have class around 12. i take ambien maybe once or twice a month i know its not gonna cure anything. but if i NEED to get sleep that particular night because of whatever i have to do the next day or ill take it.
yeah ive been readin a lot about that, rough time for you guys huh? Maybe i shouldve gotten into that id never fall asleep on the job. But yeah i always get at least 8 hours of sleep when i take it. I make sure i take it early enough where ill have plenty of time to sleep sinnnce thats the reason im taking it after all.

Im not a doctor but im a biochem major at notre dame and psych double... Sounds like ur problem is just timing.. ambien works like benzo's so it usually hits within 15min and when it does your gunna get dizzy and real tired.. id say try taking it last thing right before you want to fall asleep so your in bed eyes closed when it hits
but definitely talk to the prescriber if the nausea is that bad.. might be other things he/she suggests

thats what i try to do. well the prescriber is a family member. Hes prescribed me other stuff last year but it didnt help so i stopped taking it then once my insomnia started getting bad and i was up till 7am like 4 nights a week i just said screw it and asked him for some ambien and it works but obviously has the side effects. The nauseas only happened twice when the hallucinations have been bad and ive felt like im flying around the room so it might just be a faux motion sickness type thing.
