I think it is a bit retarded that you'd take all that time for a bit of paint, but thats not the point.

I wouldn't mess with the tubes, as others ahe said they're like that for a reason, and even if you can anodize steel these days, they're a highly accurate ground surface, you shouldn't be messing with it. The only coloured ones I've seen have been on stockers, andI guarantee the engineers there took a lot of time to find out the thickness of the surface treatment while designing so that it was exactly the same size as a plain one.

PS: Why not just get a can a flat black and give it to her? Looks the best out of everything and you can paint it all one shot, no taping lol.

here's the thing...i am not doing this for anyone other than myself...is it a pain, yes...is it costly, to some degree....is it my choice, DEFINITELY...i know this might be hard for some to grasp, but i enjoy meticulously going through my bike and making everything just so...it's the same reason why people who build hot rods have their engine block chromed, or take the time powdercoat the underside of a frame....the same reason why at a car show (like SEMA), they put mirrors below the car to show the extensive work on something that is rarely if ever seen....

not that my bike will ever get to this level...i don't have the expertise, nor the space for that matter, to tear my bike apart piece by piece and make sure everything is just how i want...nor do i have $20k in disposable income to just buy every part i want to make it the way i want...

so what does that mean...i have to come up with "fixes", beit rattle can, powdercoating when i can remove the part, or covers, or a cheap illusion to make it look the way i want....

now, that explains sort of why i am doing it...it's my project...it's what i do to get away from work, from my wife, from everything...i spend hours painting little pieces to make it work...my seem dumb to you, hell you may not even like it, but it's not for you....it's for me...

i don't know why there are so many people who SNAP at people...first i NEVER threatened anyone...i got pissed because someone stated something i was doing is "retarded"....maybe i am an idealist, but there's this thing called respect...i try to give and when i don't i expect to be called out on it....if you don't like something, fine....doesn't hurt me...but when you INSULT (which is what calling something "retarded" is), you have gone past giving your opinion and have begun giving commentary of which i don't really care....
