Default RE: Advice for a new TV

ORIGINAL: woo545

I'm looking to get the 52" Samsung. I like the picture of the 71 series over the 65. And since it's a flat screen glare shouldn't be a problem as long as the light isn't directly behind you. The problem exists when you are watching from exactly the opposite angle of the light source. That doesn't preclude washout.
Yea the 71 has the 120hz refresh so it is a lot crisper which is why I'm looking at that one. I don't know if I'd ever buy a TV at Walmart though. Walmart just seems kinda.... cheap. Plus I'm going to buy a service plan and I don't want a Walmart greeter to come over to my house to fix my $3200 TV. lol I'm thinking I'm just going to go put $100 down on the Samsun 4176 at Circuit City because it's on sale for $2299 where everyone else is on sale for only $2799. I don't think it's going to get any better than $1000 off. The only thing is I think it's an older TV and maybe I should wait for the next model to come out. GRRRRR I hate buying expensive things because it always worries me too much, I'm always afraid I'm going to make the wrong choice.

Oh right, Amazon.com will most likely be cheaper. For Larger TVs, free in home delivery.

As for your worry about waiting for the next model...you will always be in that predicament. The only reason I can think to wait is that the newer model will lower the price of the older model. Oh Amazon also has a 30 day price guarantee. If the price on the website goes down, email them and they'll refund the difference.

I won't buy the TV online because then I'm back at the servicing issue. When it breaks who is going to fix it? =/
