07-08 600rr pricing
 

Hello everyone!

I am currently in the market for a CBR 600RR. I have had my heart set on a Gixxer 750 for a lot of years, but IDK if that is the bike for someone like me.

I am looking for a used bike, and only willing to spend 4k. All of the 07-08 CBR 600's in my area are all on Craigslist for 5k. I am fully aware that its summer time, and that the prices will be @ premium levels, but jeez.

Would anyone here ever spend 5k on a 07-08 CBR 600?

My biggest issue with spending 5k is that all of the bikes that I have seen will more than likely need new tires, oil change, maybe a new chain, maybe the fork seals are going to be going out sooner than later (?), valve adjustments. Not to mention that some of these bikes have aftermarket fairings, no slip on / integrated tail light, cracked plastics, scratched covers, broken bar ends, no tank sliders, etc.

I see a lot of higher mileage CBR's going for 5k with 20K+ on the odometer in the 07-08 year.

Am I just being too cheap? I would almost think that a CBR of that year should be going for 3500-3800 tops. I mean once I bought the bike, and did all of the upgrades on it that I would want to do I would nearly be spending as much as a new'ish, or brand new bike depending on the rebates.

What are your thoughts? Should I be looking at different sites other than CL? What would you pay for the bike that I am wanting (I want an 08)? Any tips, vents, rants, thought will be much appreciated. Thanks guys / gals!
