NYC riders, where do you get bike inspected?
So I got off work early the other day and decided to go get the bike inspected at a local shop. Walked in and told them I want an inspection for my bike and they said I would need to go to a bike shop for that. I had no idea, so where do you guys take your bike for an inspection and what happens if you don't get your bike inspected?

When (not if) you get pulled over, you will get a ticket. Bloomberg's cops love setting up random motorcycle stops looking for people without their M license, or riding an unisured bike.
It costs like $6, so not worth skipping. There's no emission or noise test, just lights and horn, and making sure you have tread on your tires and some meat left on your brake pads. All the things you should care about anyway.
Any bike shop will do it, although some of the less honest ones will try to sell you something you don't need. What neighborhood are you in?

Not real near Flushing, but an easy ride, is NY Motorcycles, at 222-02 Jamaica Avenue about a dozen blocks east of the Cross Island. They've inspected my bike a few times, and I have had good experience with their service department.
