New guy here. Just bought my first bike this week, a 2008 CBR 1000. Been riding dirtbikes my entire life, so I have a motorcycle background. Before you say 'dirtbikes have nothing to do with crotch rockets', please dont, lol. Ive heard it enough. But honestly, a motorcycle is a motorcycle! Experience is experience! Anyways, heres a pic of what ive got done so far....

 

it is my completely unbiased opinion that that is one sexy bike.

Welcome aboard. You have experience, which is good. It'll help keep the rubber side down while that 1k teaches you its not a dirtbike

Hell it barely qualifies as a motorcycle, being more beast than bike

I started in the dirt myself. (just bought a new KLR this year, too.... bit of a pig, so it is... )
You're right in saying they are both motorcycles.... Just ridden very differently... LOL...
