Just wanted to say hi. My r6 was stolen almost 2 years ago now and I've been out all this time and I'm now able to buy again and I'm looking into a honda. Thinking of a 954, looks to be an all round bike. I worked for a race team out here and the r6 was awesome but I don't expect to do as much track time. Just leisure ridin' and some wheelies here and there. I always hear that Hondas are rock solid so that's why I thought I'd look to one for a long terrm bike.

So I'll be doin' some research on here. Any good bad info on the 954 for my choice is appreciated.

Welcome! Thats too bad about the R6. Whatever you go with, make sure you have insurance! Doesn't sound like you had theft coverage before with your R6, but hopefully rates have come down for you in the past two years for you to get it with the new bike. Good luck looking for your new bike.

 

Get an '02 954 Grey/Blk, if I could I would. Best Honda to date except maybe the '06 1KRR, but they are close in comparison. I would have gotten one myself just that I wanted a new bike and felt that I didn't need a liter bike for the type of ridin' that I'm doin'. I do intend on gettin' a 954 eventually, my hope is in the next year or two, probably as track/f-ck around bike. I talked my cousin in to gettin a 954 (JRdaHNIC, member name). Had his stolen in the first month, but was able to recover it with minimal damage, anyway. The tough part will be finding one in good condition and minimal miles. Another good choice would be a 1999 R1, but I wouldn't mention that here Used bikes are like gems.
