South Brunswick NJ checking in
Hey Guys; I'm Kevin, 51 and back in the wind for the first time in 25 years! I just bought a very nice 1988 Hurricane 1000 in silver. The bike gets delivered on 3/22 on off to the shop next week for a thourough check and TLC. My prior bikes were an FJ1200, Seca 750, CB750F, HD Wideglide.

Welcome to the forum Kevin.
There are a few members with 1000fs here. Hang around for a bit and you may see one or two. OK, honestly there are many 1000fs here.... Check out the hurricane section to see them in their natural habitat.
Ride safe out there. People are less aware of bikes these days than 25 years ago. Sigh, life was so much safer before cellular phones.

Welcome to the CBR Forum Kevin,
Right age and right bike! Bring your sense of humour and dive into the Hurricane Saloon. It may not seem like it some times, but we are here to help.
And also a big welcome back to the world of two wheels.
Did you buy this one? http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/1988-...exp=true#v4-40
If so, we must talk about getting molds from the rear seat cowl!
Cheers, SB

Thanks everyone!
Just bought a new Shoei Helmet, a rated leather safety jacket, new gloves. Got my vinatge bike insurance and made arrangements at the Cycle Center in East Brunswick to pick the bike up to fix the fork seals, new tires and the once over. Bike arrives tomorrow where she'll sit in the garage between my 81 Vette that I owned for a decade and my Challenger. They cant wait for the new ride to share the space. MAN am I STOKED!

Hey Sebastian
Yes - I bought that one. I had it checked, the noise is not from the alternator or the chain cam tensioner. The bike was checked and seriously other then the fork seals, shes good. The right side scuff my the exhaust was repainted. The guy I boought it from was beyond cool. All ebay cats should be this way... AND the bike was local.. Oh boy im stoked! What ever you need just let me know..
