Hey guys, noobie here with my '01 929. been riding 2 years now and love it. One year on my dads Harley until i could save up enough to buy my own sportbike. I bought my bike in tough condition with quite a few problems from an accident and I have invested more than she is worth but i don't regret a thing. It was a great learning experience and i got an incredibly sexy bike out of it all.
Was going to go for the storm trooper look but decided against it because white gets dirty way too easily so now I'm going for a raven look. Her name is Leia and she is almost finished.
Next item on my to do list is order a used gas tank and get it painted black because the current one is badly dented although it is tough to see in the photos. And after that i plan on having the seats reupholstered.
Here are some shots of my progress with her,
When i first bought the bike, note the duct tape passenger seat
Installed spools and and bought stands after painting gas tank and tail fairing
Had to replace the rear subframe due to a fairly large crack along the side,
Rear sprocket was missing 9 teeth :O replaced both sprockets and the chain,
was also missing a stud for my sprocket and could not find one anywhere in stock so i had to order it,
Got some new mirrors because the ones on it already were different sizes. carbon fiber with integrated turn signals,
Fairings came in the mail,
reflective red rim stripe (looks AMAZING at night)
wired some quick disconnect plugs down to the bottom of the fairing for my underglow so that fairings could be removed without having to cut wires,
plugged them in in order to make sure they were wired correct,
After i knew they worked i attached them to the fairing,
Here is my iPhone mount for my gas tank for GPS
Cigarette adapter to charge my phone,
Not bad for some punk 18 year old kid with a minimum wage job eh?

Sorry everyone, I have been out riding. I hope that that is a good enough excuse to not reply. I left on a thousand mile round trip adventure up to the sierras on sunday and just returned late last night.
I'm from south orange county, Laguna Niguel to be specific.
Thanks! I am using a LifeProof phone case and gopro mount on my gas tank. Works great for GPS.
I try not to use my phone too much while riding and i rarely wear gloves around town unless its cold but no i don't have those gloves. My current gloves kinda work if i push hard enough on the screen. if i start doing longer rides in the winter I may invest in some thicker ones with the thing on the finger tips to use the phone. Ive seen them in stores and they are pretty neat.
