Default Should I get a CBR 600rr?

Hey CBR peeps.

Ok. Heres the scoop. I have been riding about a year and a half or so on my 2000 Katana 600 and I am feeling like I need a little upgrade. I have been looking around and decided that the CBR 600rr (black) is the one I want. But before I pull the trigger I wanted to get some details on why I should.

What do you LOVE about the CBR? Do you think that it is an upgrade from my Katana to CBR even though they are both 600s? I know one is more racing, but still. Are there any accessories that I should look at? Gel Seat, tank pad? Do they matter?

Thanks

First off, Welcome!

I love my CBR. Great handling/power/flickability/feedback/durability/weight. What year are you looking at? Honda did amazing work in '07 on the RR with their many changes.

You will definately notice a difference on the CBR. The weight difference will feel amazing!

Invest into gear for you and your ride first ... then look into accessories like the seat/grips/tank pad. Stock the CBR is not going to feel as comfortable as the Katana but you'll get use to it

Crash.
Thanks for the info. I have gloves, thick leather, and a good helmet. So I think I have the gear. The only thing that I am worried about is that I might out grow the 600, but I am not a speed freak. More like to know that the power is there if needed, and the looks that the CBR gets at stop lights.

Im looking at either the Black shinny 07, or the Black Graffitti 08. Choices Choices... So much fun. I will let you guys know what I end up with.

You will not out grow a 600RR. And both the bikes you have in mind are great. I would love to have the 08 Graffitti.

You will Not grow out of those machines. Track inspired, it will keep you on the edge of your seat ... literally [sm=gears.gif]If you do need a little more power you can always gear it up in the back a little and have more then enough power on the street and a deadly track bike. There are few people that can ride these machines to their full potential and wouldn't besmart to try on the streets.

The CBR will be a whole new experience for you. Better stopping power, quicker acceleration, and more nibble. If you're looking to make the CBR more comfortable check out the corbin seats .. Some Good Some Bad reviews.

If the '07 Black appeals to you, I would say pick that one up for a great price and use the money you save forsome future mods.

Goodluck with your purchase and I hope we've helped!

Thanks all for your comments. I am going to go up this weekend and see if I can work a deal for the 08 bike. If not, I know I can get the 07. Seams like right now is a good time to haggle a good bike price. I will let you know what I end up getting.

Thanks again

I just want to say ....an 1993 cbr f2 would be a nice upgrade, and a cbr of any vintage 94-07 will make you smile
