Hey guys. I'm new to riding and new to the boards. I've never ridden before but I am taking my MSF course in the next month or so and have been looking at bikes. I'm 20 years old but pretty responsible for my age. I decided to start out with a 600 and a friend of a friend is selling a 1999 Honda CBR 600 F4, yellow/black, in great condition with about 10,000 miles on it for $3,000. Also has an aftermarket Vance and Hines exhaust. Beautiful bike and in great condition. I was just wondering if those experienced with the prices of these bikes thought that it was a good deal. In my research I was not able to find a better deal but I don't want to buy it simply out of inexperience and excitement. Any and all advice is appreciated.

 

Hmmmm, friend of a friend eh? Any chance you can take someone with you that has a bit of experience with bikes? Ya know -- to check it out with a cynical eye. When you're buying there's always stars in your eyes so an objective opinion is worthwhile.

Awesome. Thanks guys. Yeah chain I think i'm gonna get someone to come look at the bike with me, possibly a mechanic. That way I should get a better idea of the mechanical condition.

Sounds like a pretty good deal to me but I would check Kelly Blue Book or NADA just incase.
