hey all, whats shakin, my bike is! im a newbe from Chicago. i have a 94 cbr1000f with 14k on the odo. i took er out yesterday to get rid of the old fuel and when i was riding at approx 35-40mph, i took my hands off the handlebars and when i did the bars started shakin uncontrolably. scared the heck out of me. when my hand are where they're supposed to be, its fine. ive heard about the steering head bearings being replaced with tapered ones for other bikes with the same issue. ive never had the frt apart othger than replacing the pads. tire is a Dunlop Sportmax D207, pressure is at 36psi. any help is appreciated! thanx

+1, the 1000f section will point you in the right direction. check the obvious stuff... make sure the tire is in good condition and not rotted or separating and make sure the axle it torqued properly. i dont think its a head bearing issue....but who knows

Hey Welcome MJP....+1....are your bar ends in place? There was a member here that had the same problem with some after market bar end, then he replace with OEM & all PURRRRFECT!!!

 

ill be keeping my hands on the bars till i get a new tire. thanx all! this is a great forum with great ppl.

Yep! The 1kF section is like a forum inside a forum, and the saloon in the 1kF area is a different matter. Be very careful in there, they tend to hurt my feelings in there...NOT! <-the saloon that is...
