Running yesterday. No Spark, no neutral light, won’t turn over

Pulled my motor to put in a new frame. Had the complete motor and harness set up on the bench and got it running fine. Next day I went to start it and neutral light will not come on and will not turn over. I jumped the starter and it turns over But does not have spark. Only issue I saw was one wire leading to one of the ignition coils touched the exhaust and definitely grounded it self. Can this cause something with the neutral light/sensor and no spark issue?? Slightly lost here so any help is greatly appreciated

I did, one 10 amp was blown can’t remember which one. I replaced it. Didn’t change symptoms

Is the clutch switch/ side stand bypassed and neutral switch working

Anthony Prentice 03-07-2019 03:07 PM

Good information above, Gives me a few things to look into later today.

The Side stand light is not on, it will turn on when you complete the circuit on the switch(No need to bypass just left open). Is the clutch switch only triggered by the switch on the handle or is there a position sensor somewhere else? It did not turn over when the clutch lever switch was left open or closed. Thanks for the help!

Any Idea how to bypass neutral switch? I think this is the best place to start

Update!! Bypassed the neutral switch to the ground and it fired right up thanks for the help

Good morning ,well done ,as you look at the Clutch Diode you can see how all 3 things pass through it, and can prevent starting

I keep forgetting about that diode. It's been at fault before. Thanks for the reminder.
