Problem cbr 600 f2 1993
Hey all, i have had my cbr f2 1993 for about 3 months mileage wise its new but defo hasn't been taken care of She was sat for 6 months before i picked her up and rode fine on my test ride. When brought she had low compression on one cylinder making her sluggish in 1 st gear up to 4000rpm.
Aside from that rode like a dream, i changed the plugs and air filter as they had seen better days, i was advised to change the battery by the mechanics but other than that she was fine.
I sometimes leave my bike at my work warehouse, my colleagues rang to tell me i had a fuel leak and sure enough she had dumped out everything. The petcock was off so i know it wasn't a human blunder.
Filled her up and she rode fine for a couple weeks,i go downstairs one warm afternoon do my start up routine when i notice the neutral indicator is not showing even when in engaged, secondly she would not turn over at all.
I tried to jump start the battery from a car, she would still not turn over but the neutral light came back on.I checked the voltage on the battery an it was 11v.
I brought a battery charger and left the battery on a 12v charge overnight getting ito 12.8v, after trying to start her again she turned over and fired up but would not idle with the choke on and unless i kept the revs up would die.
I could get as far as maybe 200m before she cut out on.After the mechanics looked at her they said it was a carb issue 100%, they brought a carb rebuild it but due to it being an aftermarket part they said it didn't fit.
I took the bike back as they didn't really seem that bothered with fixing it, I took off the carbs dissembled them cleaned them and re fitted without changing any parts.
Still no luck, i brought a second hand carb for the same bike supposedly working fine, gave it a clean and fitted it.The bike felt like she was starting easier and was even idling but afer a short while she would cut out and leak fuel,
The battery positive terminal was overheating, and the air filter housing was covered in fuel.
I took of the carbs again cleaned them and ordered a new r/r.I fitted the new rr and carbs, the fuel leak is still happening and now the battery is fine but the r/r is overheating.
Help please fellow cbr owners
