Default Overheat problem

Okay so I have a 09 cbr 600rr. The bike has been overheating as far as up to 270, I replaced the thermostat and the housing and the sensor into the houseing and until last night I could not get my fan to turn on, which the fan turned on a 253 which I know is way to high it should be around 220 the temp bounces drastically up and down 10+ degrees once it warms up. I have done a complete flush of the coolant multiple times. I can't figure out why the bike is running "so hot" unless I'm getting a false reading. Any thoughts on this would be greatly appreciated.

Hi welcome to the forum, temperature very much dependant on type of riding you ie traffic or motorway, but before you worry too much about stripping anything down ,have a look at buying one of those laser temperature guns , they are very cheap and could give you a more reasonable ideal of the temp

The temp hits the 270 at idle with a rather large fan blowing on it and the oils light will flash then drop suddenly back to 250 then bounces from 230 all the way to 270

Could be water pump issue. The impeller could be damaged or not functioning correctly. No flow no cooling ?
Keep us posted as you go.

I got a temp gun took my bike for a quick ride it's 60F outside today and the gauge was reading 220 when I parked it checked the water temp with the gun and it was reading 135-140. Possible reasons why?
