Default overcharging on my 1996 cbr blade

can anyone give me some advice on how to check if the rectifier is throwing out its voltage as the bike sometimes dies when riding with lights on checked battery on voltage and saying the reading at 4 000 revs is 17 is this nowrmal many thanks neil

Welcome to the board!

17V @ 4k RPMs is too high. Will eventually kill your battery. We have a charging system run through HERE.

Yep, 17V is definitely too high. The R/R may be cooking out your battery and causing it to fail.

+2 ... absolutely boiling up the battery ...... just went through the whole ordeal

Fried R/R ! in my case
