Old fart back in the saddle

Hello, all..
My name is Rick, and I live in Virginia. Married, three kids (2 boys, 12, 5, and one girl, 2.) I am born/raised in Texas though, which IMO is a far better place than where I'm at!

At any rate, I'm back in the saddle... sorta.. I'm in the process of putting (back) together an '02 F4i. Why this bike? Because it was priced right! [8D]

So anyway, I'm 39, and have been riding bikes since 1977.. Mostly Suzuki, but have had a few Hondas in there for good measure, along with one Yamaha, and a couple Kaws.. This is my third Honda, with the first two being the old '87 600 Hurricane (white/Red), followed by a 1987 700 Interceptor (all white)..

My next step was '89 GSX-R750R Slingshot. What a beast.. From then, on, this F4i is my first Honda since the late 80s.. [:-]

I'm really looking forward to this build, as I haven't owned a motorcycle since selling my '89 GSXR1100R in '98.

I work for a motorcycle custom shop, doing installs and repairs and such.. We mostly do Chrome wheels, bling bling stuff, in-house frame polishing, and more..

I've been scouring over the archived posts and such, and see there are a ton of very knowledgable people here, so I know this will be a worthwhile learning experience here..

Ok, enough babbling.. I can't turn a wrench if I'm typing!

Warm regards,
Rick

Welcome to the forum. You're not old... I rode with a 64 yo on a 05 R1 the other day that kept me on my toes all day.

Where in VA?

I'm old for about the first 45 minutes I get out of bed! I sound like a walking bowl od Rice Crispies! :D

Im in Winchester, VA..

edit:
We're actually working on an older guy's new RC51 at the shop. I'd guess he's late 50s.. He's wanting to dress it up a little. Doing some chrome stuff right now.
